*Large loads will need to be taken to Arlington – Waste Management.
*The only chemicals taken at the transfer station are paint.
*The burn pile takes tree limbs, wood chips, shrubs (yard debris) and untreated, unpainted wood such as pallets. Nails do not need to be removed. All other items, including dead animals, are prohibited in the burn pile.
*Scrap metal pile is for metal and mostly metal pieces, not for items with minimal metal on them.
Non-Acceptable Items:
- Ashes, hot or cold
- Batteries
- Hazardous Waste
- Household Hazardous Waste (City has a collection event with Waste Management once a year in May at the transfer station)
- Liquids: fuel, oil, etc.
- Medical waste, needles, sharps
- Dead animals or animal feces
Accepted ONLY in designated areas at the Transfer Station:
- Appliances with Freon – Place in white goods pile at transfer station
- Electronics – Place in e-cycle bins at transfer station
- Empty Propane tanks – Place in scrap metal pile at transfer station
- Tires – Only stacked in designated bin at transfer station

- $6.00 per cubic yard-secured load
- $12.00 per cubic yard-unsecured load
- $10.00 refrigerators/freezers or anything with Freon
- $.50 per grocery bag
- $1 per white tall kitchen garbage bag
- $2.50 per 30 gallon garbage bag/can
- $2.00 black garbage bag
- $20 (with attendant) for unscheduled use of transfer station-plus cost of garbage
- $100 for unallowable dumping in burn pile
